welcome to mdoLive

Welcome my lovely lovely friends to my personal website - mdoLive. That's procounced m-d-o-Live, not m-d-Olive as one friend insists on calling it. I had my first website when I started HE college, back in 1994. It was here I was first exposed to the Internet, Netscape didn't exist, Internet Explorer didn't exist. Infact Microsoft didn't think that the Internet would be a success at all!

It didn't take long before I write my own homepage and have a presence to say to the world "look this is me and this is what I do". I then managed to blag one on the college web server. I have made many different attempts at the design and content of my page, each one slightly better then the last. And now you have arrived at this one the latest incarnation. Unfortunately I no longer have any archive copies of any of my early attempts at a site. And some of them were quite abismal, spesh the early ones.

I recently turned twenty five, which means .. eeek I'm nearly middle aged!!

A quick life story for you. I was born on 14th April 1976 in St Asaph (North Wales, UK) to Sheila and Terry O'Marah - I wanted to be near my mum at the time. I was then rushed off to hospital as I had a cleft pallete. Not immediately, but at a young and tender age I underwent some plastic surgery to correct the hole in my mouth. Hurrah! I could drink milk without it leaking out of my nose ... believe me for a baby this is of great excitement. The only problem was that I didn't want to talk to my mum at the time. When ever she went to give me a hug for the first few days I would turn away - I was a cruel child really.

During my pre-teen years we lived in a small North Wales village - Northop (Llanergain in Welsh). I also attended primary school here at Ysgol Owen Jones. For my secondary education I became a pupil at the Alun High School in Mold (Yr Wyddgrug) just down the road, it was at the end of my first year that we also moved to Mold.

I went on to do some GCSE's, BTEC National Diploma and finally become a graduate fo the University of Salford with an Upper Second Class Bachelor of Science Degree with Honours in Computer Studies, or a Computer Studies BSc (Hons) 2:1.

But in theory I shouldn't have got that far! Let's go back to the begining shall we. This was pointed out to me by a friend of mine, Stickman, while down the pub one day. To get onto the BTEC I needed to get 3 C's in my GCSE's. These had to include Maths and English Language. While I managed to get a C in Maths I only got a D in English, so technically I shouldn't have been accepted for the BTEC. I was accepted and studied at the local FE college, Deeside College, it was at this point I realised that the whole Engineering thing is a cover-up. It's really Maths with some words and other obscure things thrown in. I had problems with the Maths, I failed the second year and resit by 2%! Since I managed reasonably well in the rest of the course I was awarded a BTEC National Diploma in Engineering. So, again, technically I shouldn't have been accepted onto my Degree because I didn't pass the Maths. Then as the icing on the cake I managed to land a job before completing my degree. And this job allowed me to finish my degree. I mean is this all a total fluke or what?

Right, so that's all the academic side of my life out the way. Now for some of the more personal stuff. My inside leg is .... no no no too personal. But be warned, there are a few things that put people off:

Finally the one thing that explains most of the above is that I am a very happy homosexual. Yes, such things do exist! I used to be a "Practising Homosexual" but now I'm now very experienced and good at it. I am in a very happy, loving, long-term relationship with Dean, we've been together over two and a half years now, and are planning on buying a house together in Birmingham early next year. To find out more about that and to read my coming out story visit Grab. It is a general support and information site for Lesbians, Gays and Bi-Sexuals and their friends and families.

Enjoy - I hope you like the site.
